My practice is rooted in a humanistic and psychodynamic approach, which means that I believe you know yourself better than anyone else. Together, we explore both what is happening in your life now and how your past experiences may be shaping the way you think, feel, relate, and respond to yourself today. I aim to offer a warm, compassionate space where you can slow down, feel heard, and make sense of what you’re experiencing. I am here to walk alongside you as you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and find your own way forward.
I believe that even painful or overwhelming experiences can carry meaning. Rather than simply trying to silence difficult symptoms, we can become curious about what they may be communicating and develop new ways of responding. Together, we work towards making choices from a place of greater clarity and compassion, and finding a greater sense of balance in your everyday life through strengthening your capacities and resources as well as exploring difficulties with greater self-acceptance.
My work draws on Positive Psychotherapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and trauma-informed approaches. I also have a particular appreciation for creative expression as a pathway to understanding and healing. As an opera singer, I know personally the power of the voice and of creative forms such as music, art, and drama to help us express experiences that can sometimes feel beyond words. I also place importance on tuning into the body and noticing what it may be feeling and communicating to us.
