Hi, my name is Peter Lewis at Trafford Counselling.
I work from a dedicated garden room in Sale, which has a separate entry and ample parking nearby.
Although I am neurodivergent myself, I have taken additional training to ensure that I practice in a neurodiversity affirming manner.
I help Adults and Young People (11+). My specialist areas of interest are Neurodivergent people and LGBTQIA+ (‘Queer’) people, who feel like outsiders, like they are misunderstood, or who are facing challenges in their social or romantic relationships. Through therapy with me, you will have more confidence to face challenges as you move through everyday life. I work predominantly as a Person-Centred Therapist.
Do you have ADHD, Autism, or Borderline Personality Disorder (EUPD), and are you looking for a therapist with lived experience who will fully understand your experiences without judgement? Do you have issues with emotional regulation, rejection sensitivity, executive dysfunction, or do you sometimes think that socially you feel ‘not quite right?’ Are you late diagnosed, and are going through a grief stage about how your life may have looked if you were diagnosed earlier in life?
These are just a few of the issues my neurodivergent clients have brought to therapy, and through our work we have helped to calm those worries, to find ways to regulate, and to feel more self-confident. I personally was diagnosed with ADHD in my 30s around the year 2017 and have made several changes in my life to really make it worth living again. The reason that I specify the three neurodivergences above is because those are closest to my own lived experience and personal understanding. I am neurodiversity affirming, meaning that therapy with me will never try to ‘train you’ out of your neurodivergent wiring, but I will help you to live life more fully as your authentic self.
My website is listed here, or you can book in for a short discovery call to see if we would be the right fit for each other.
Hope to hear from you soon!
