Hi, I’m Ammone (they/them). I’m a counsellor & psychotherapist with 5+ years experience working in helping professions, and I provide online individual therapy for adults (18+) in the UK. I work with clients who are navigating questions around identity/gender/sexuality, or facing life/work/health challenges or transitions, and searching for meaning/purpose/direction in a world that feels increasingly uncertain.
Alongside my private practice, I volunteer for an LGBTQ specialist charity, providing 1:1 therapy for adults accessing the talking therapies service. In previous work roles, I used my skills to provide welfare support for people presenting in emotional distress / crisis at gigs, events, & festivals.
Working from a person-centred & integrative foundation, I consider my approach first and foremost in the context of the person sitting across from me. This means I take into consideration your personal circumstances, individual needs, and goals for therapy, and I integrate skills/tools/techniques from a wide range of therapeutic approaches, with the aim of providing therapy that is sensitively attuned to each client that I have the privilege of working with.
My FdSc degree in counselling & psychotherapy covered person-centred & integrative approaches, alongside:
– Psychodynamic therapy
– Gestalt therapy
– Cognitive behavioural therapy
– Transactional analysis
I also have a special interest and further (CPD) training in:
– Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)
– Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
– Existential therapy
This means there are a range of therapeutic modalities that I can draw from, depending on what might be most appropriate for the work that we do together in sessions. You can learn more about my approach on my website or via a free consultation.
