Hi, I’m Ammone (they/them). I’m a counsellor & therapist with 5+ years experience working in helping professions, and I provide online individual therapy for adults (18+) in the UK. I work with clients who are navigating questions around identity/gender/sexuality, or facing life/work/health challenges or transitions, and searching for meaning/purpose/direction in a world that feels increasingly uncertain. As a late diagnosed AuDHD person, I know how exhausting it can be to feel as though you have to perform to neurotypical standards/expectations, else have your experiences judged and/or pathologised. I aim to offer a safe, supportive, and affirming space where you can feel free to unmask & show up exactly as you are. Different ways of processing, thinking, communicating, and relating are welcome here, and I aim to adapt my approach accordingly.
Alongside my private practice, I volunteer for an LGBTQ specialist charity, providing 1:1 therapy for adults accessing the talking therapies service. In previous work roles, I used my skills to provide welfare support for people presenting in emotional distress / crisis at gigs, events, & festivals.
Working from a person-centred & integrative foundation, I consider my approach first and foremost in the context of the person sitting across from me. This means I take into consideration your personal circumstances, individual needs, and goals for therapy, and I integrate skills/tools/techniques from a wide range of therapeutic approaches, with the aim of providing therapy that is sensitively attuned to each client that I have the privilege of working with.
My FdSc degree in counselling & psychotherapy covered person-centred & integrative approaches, alongside:
– Psychodynamic therapy
– Gestalt therapy
– Cognitive behavioural therapy
– Transactional analysis
I also have a special interest and further (CPD) training in:
– Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)
– Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
– Existential therapy
This means there are a range of therapeutic modalities that I can draw from, depending on what might be most appropriate for the work that we do together in sessions.
If this resonates with you, and you’re wondering if I might be the right therapist for you, you can learn more about me or my approach on my website, and you’re also more than welcome to reach out via email/book in for a free consultation. I look forward to hearing from you.
