I’m an experienced coach, educator and consultant, specialsing in neurodiversity. My background is in higher education and the creative industries where I’ve held leadership roles, including managing a majority neurodivergent and disabled team.
The word my clients most often use to describe the experience of working with me is ‘transformative’. This is because the focus of my coaching is on understanding what’s going on behind the challenges they face – not on short-term, generic solutions, tips or hacks. At the end of our time together my clients leave with a personalised understanding of how to independently sustain the positive changes that came about from coaching. The transformation continues for my clients long after our time together ends.
I work with the whole individual, rather than coaching a label or diagnosis. This is why I don’t call myself and ‘autism coach’ or ‘ADHD coach’. Instead I bring a neuroaffirming approach to all that I do. This means our starting point is acknowledging that there is nothing ‘wrong’ with you, but that you’re encountering barriers that are preventing you from thriving.
Coaching is a time-bound intervention, intended to help you achieve self-determined goals. While we’ll work together to deepen your understanding of your differences and the current challenges you’re facing, we’ll also focus on actionable goals and steps you can take to make immediate, positive changes in your life. These don’t have to be big and overwhelming for the results to have a significant impact. Many of my clients start coaching in ‘survival’ mode. While ‘thriving’ can feel a long way off, it is often the cumulative effect of multiple small changes made with the support of a good coach that can really transform your relationship with yourself and your differences.
I work flexibly, in a way that suits your needs. In practice, this means I ask you to think about what resources – particularly time, energy and money – you have available to commit to coaching. From there we can explore how many sessions will best support you. This is important as I don’t require you to commit to a minimum number of sessions together. I’ve worked with clients over four sessions, and they have achieved what they set out to do. And I’ve also supported clients across ten sessions where they have had the resources to work across multiple goals.
In your free 30 min initial session we can begin exploring what your goal/s might look like, how many sessions you might want to do, and what our time together needs to look, and feel like, to best support you.
