Do you feel like you are constantly running on empty, trapped in a cycle of worry or shutdown, and finding it hard to just get through the day?
Life can sometimes push our nervous systems into a constant state of alert. You might feel stuck, emotionally exhausted, weighed down by past experiences or current pressures, these may come from family issues, work or relationships. You do not have to figure it all out alone, and you do not have to keep pretending that everything is fine.
When we experience a traumatic event, a challenging childhood, or relentless day-to-day stressors, or we are neuro-diverse, our nervous system can get trapped in a constant state of defence. You might feel physically exhausted, emotionally overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself and others. You may be suffering from a chronic health condition and are unable to see a way forward.
How We Work Together (Online Across the UK):
As an online trauma specialist and registered BACP therapist, I combine compassionate, integrative counselling with somatic practices and clinically-proven auditory listening technologies.
Somatic Trauma Therapy: Moving your body out of fight-or-flight without forcing you to endlessly rehash painful past stories.
The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP): A gentle, non-invasive acoustic program that stimulates the vagus nerve to reduce chronic stress, calm physical overwhelm, and soothe sensory or auditory sensitivities.
The Rest and Restore Protocol (RRP): Specifically tailored to gently retune highly sensitive nervous systems navigating autonomic dysfunction and chronic fatigue.
I specialise in working with anxiety, trauma, and chronic stress.
My approach is designed to help you:
Make sense of physical and emotional overwhelm.
Step out of survival mode (fight, flight, or freeze).
Rebuild a sense of safety and calm in your body and mind.
Navigate life transitions or the heavy weight of everyday stress.
Specialist Trauma Support & The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP):
Because trauma lives in the body, traditional talking therapies can sometimes feel like hard work if your nervous system is stuck in fight, flight, or freeze. To support your healing, I integrate somatic trauma therapy with the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP).
Developed by Dr. Stephen Porges based on Polyvagal Theory, the SSP is a gentle, non-invasive listening therapy. It uses specially filtered music to quite literally retune your nervous system.
By stimulating the vagus nerve through the auditory pathways, the SSP helps to:
Calm physical overwhelm: Reduce chronic stress, hyper-vigilance, and that constant “on-guard” feeling.
Improve sensory sensitivities: Relieve sound sensitivities and auditory defensiveness often triggered by trauma or neurodiversity such as ADHD or Autism.
Restore connection: Ease emotional dysregulation, making it easier to sleep, focus, and feel safe connecting with others.
The SSP acts as a beautiful neurological “warm-up,” calming your physiological state so that deeper therapeutic progress can happen naturally and gently.
