Biography
Hello, my name is Shingirai and I am a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with over a decade of experience supporting individuals across the lifespan with mental health challenges and neurodevelopmental conditions. My clinical journey has spanned across NHS trusts, CAMHS, adult mental health services, and specialist neurodevelopmental teams, allowing me to build deep expertise in assessing and supporting individuals with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Conditions, and complex emotional needs.
I am formally trained and experienced in administering gold-standard diagnostic tools, including the ADOS-2 (Modules 1–4), ADI-R, and DIVA-5. I have conducted assessments for children, adolescents, and adults in both clinical and educational settings. I combine structured assessment tools with person-centred dialogue, ensuring that each individual’s lived experience is heard, validated, and understood.
My approach is:
Neurodiversity-affirming – I believe in celebrating neurological differences, not pathologising them.
Trauma-informed – I create a safe, supportive environment that recognises past experiences.
Evidence-based – I follow NICE guidelines and draw from current clinical research and best practice.
Collaborative – I work in partnership with families, schools, and other professionals when appropriate to build a complete and compassionate understanding.
I provide comprehensive diagnostic reports with actionable recommendations, helping individuals and families access the right supports—whether that’s workplace accommodations, educational support, therapy, or medication discussions with a prescriber.
Clients have described me as warm, respectful, and easy to talk to. I strive to make assessments as comfortable and empowering as possible, especially for those who may feel overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure about the process.
In addition to assessment, I also offer psychoeducation, support planning, and onward referral recommendations to help you take the next step with confidence.
