I’m Dr Siobhán McHale the practice founder. I have a doctorate in counselling psychology (DCounsPsych) from the University of Manchester. I have expertise in offering neuroaffirmative support to people who may be experiencing trauma, PTSD, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsions OCD, body dysmorphia BDD, and other mental health conditions which can contribute to difficulties in relationships and living our lives as we wish. I am a British Psychological Society (BPS) chartered psychologist and Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered counselling psychologist. This is an assurance that I work within the ethical boundaries of my profession and that I am suitably qualified, and that I engage in regular CPD and clinical supervision to maintain my practice. I offer a range of therapies to meet the needs of each client. Sessions are individual, either face to face, in my consulting room which is in easy reach of the A1 / M18/ M1 on the North Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire, and Lincolnshire borders and or online. I offer Initial psychological assessments and also specialist ADHD and eating disorders assessments. I can signpost to multi-disciplinary team professionals from my network as required. I am registered with many leading health insurance providers. I believe that each individual has the potential to lead a fulfilling and meaningful life. Everything that you have learned to do in your life so far to alleviate distress is what you needed to do to survive. Sometimes these strategies might have been helpful for a short time and became maladaptive/unhelpful over time. As humans, we can learn more helpful (adaptive) ways of coping. We will work together to create a safe, warm, accepting, and collaborative space to explore change. I adopt a sexuality and gender affirmative stance to my practice.
