Carrie Young: Co-Founder and Clinical Director of NeuroAxis
As a dedicated ADHD specialist and the co-founder and Clinical Director of NeuroAxis, I have spent over 18 years in the healthcare field. This diverse background equips me with a unique, well-rounded perspective to support individuals navigating the challenges of ADHD. My journey as a qualified nurse, specialist public health nurse, and nurse prescriber—combined with my MSc in Public Health—drives my deeply rooted commitment to delivering the highest quality of care.
Throughout my career, I have worked across a broad spectrum of frontline roles, including Accident & Emergency, community nursing, and health visiting. Notably, my time working within a 0–19 years service allowed me to support school-aged children and collaborate closely with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), deepening my understanding of youth developmental milestones and challenges. Later, while working in substance misuse services, I noticed a striking, recurring theme: so many of my patients were secretly struggling with undiagnosed ADHD. This powerful realization sparked my passion, prompting me to specialize deeply in this field.
Today, I am a trained ADHD specialist, proficient in utilizing the DIVA and DSM-5 criteria to conduct comprehensive assessments for individuals aged 6 to 65. Beyond diagnostics, I provide personalized ADHD coaching to empower clients to manage their symptoms and build actionable strategies for success. I also specialize in producing workplace adjustment reports, helping businesses thrive by ensuring their neurodiverse employees receive the right support to excel.
By blending evidence-based practice with motivational interviewing techniques and compassionate care, my goal is to ensure NeuroAxis remains a leading, trusted resource. I am incredibly proud to offer the personalized, empowering support our clients need to truly thrive in their daily lives.
