Over a decade working with neurodivergent young adults and colleagues, and my own experience of late diagnosis, have shaped an approach that is:
Practical: you need someone who understands, but who can also help you to actually work with your unique needs, strengths, and challenges
Evidence-based: anti-pseudoscience and generic ‘hacks’; pro-tailored, research-led practice
Informed by personal and professional experience: lived experience is key, but my experience will be different from yours; coaching is about you
Throughout my career as an A Level Psychology teacher, I observed consistent patterns in the students I worked with.
The strategies and systems we defaulted to, however well-intentioned, often failed to account for the realities of working memory, cognitive load, external factors, and emotional regulation. For neurodivergent learners in particular, standard approaches frequently added to confusion and stress rather than reducing it.
When I adjusted the approach to fit how a student actually processed information: prioritising clarity, scaffolding, and structure, the impact was direct and meaningful. Seeing that effect consistently, across students and contexts, made clear that these principles had value well beyond the classroom, prompting me to undertake adult specific training with the Neurodiversity Training Academy. The challenges of working as a neurodivergent educator gave me insight into the world of reasonable adjustments, Access to Work, and how occupational challenges require an understanding of the nature of the work, not just the workplace itself.
My approach is grounded in evidence: drawing on research into executive function, cognitive load, and neurodivergent experience, and practised with compassion.
I don’t offer generic productivity ‘hacks’ or neurotypical strategies repackaged for neurodivergent brains.
Instead, we work together to understand how you actually function, identify what is getting in the way, and build practical systems and structures that work with your brain rather than against it.
