Biography
We all have times in our life when we may feel overwhelmed or are faced with things that are difficult to think about on our own. Yet talking to people close to us may also feel difficult. I offer a warm, compassionate, non-judgemental and friendly space as a therapist where we will explore whatever difficulty you may bring, to develop personal growth through a deeper understanding, acceptance, and change.
I respect that everyone is uniquely different and as an integrative therapist l draw from a variety of theories and methods in order to meet your needs in a way that suits you. Everyone has a right to healing and living the way they choose – and that includes you too.
The relationship between myself and yourself is important for the effectiveness of our work, and l will work in a way that respects your uniqueness. This ensures that l understand ‘your’ experience from ‘your perspective’. Nurturing, growth and compassion are present throughout my work because l believe they are fundamental for hope and future fulfilment.
As a late diagnosed adult l understand the difficulties of being neurodivergent and trying to fit into a neurotypical world. I also understand that considering or receiving a diagnosis may be a lot to process, yet once this is processed it may offer a new perspective on how your life works for you. I have 2 teenage children who are neurodivergent and a partner who is as well. We all present very differently and this uniqueness of each and everyone of us is reflected in the individualised way l work.
I also have 13 year’s experience as a Health Visitor in the NHS and understand both through work experiences and personal experience how the parenting journey and its challenges may sometimes be overwhelming. I have additional experience in fertility, pregnancy, parenting, birth trauma and baby loss. I am also a domestic abuse ambassador for a large NHS Trust.
I offer face to face therapy sessions from welcoming and comfortable spaces in North Leeds and Ilkley. I also work nationally on-line within the UK.
Do get in touch for a free 20 minute introductory session via phone or videocall to find out how l may work with you and for you to ask any questions you may have.
